Confessions of a Serial Instigator

Celia Pearce, co-founder of IndieCade, is an associate professor of game design at Northeastern University. For the past thirty plus years, she has suffered from compulsive instigation syndrome, an uncontrollable desire to start new things. In this talk she will discuss some of the initiatives she has been involved with creating, including IndieCade, XYZ, an exhibition about women game designers, the USC School of Cinematic Arts Interactive Media program, the new BFA in Games at Northeastern, and other projects. She’ll share some of her successes and failures and present some of her insights on what is required to start something new.

For December only, WIG Boston will be hosted by Northeastern University, in the Raytheon Amphitheater (building 60 on this map). The Raytheon Amphitheater is located at 120 Forsythe Street, Boston, MA 02115. Public transportation is available on the MBTA Orange Line (Ruggles Station stop) and the MBTA “E” Green Line (Northeastern University stop).
