This month, Rachel Dziezynski will be talking about game audio.
If you’ve ever wanted to create sound effects or music for games but weren’t sure how to get started, this is the talk for you! After talking about how to approach creating sounds and going over free resources that you can download to get started, we’ll open up the software and go over practical techniques you can start using right away. This talk is meant to help those with no previous experience with music or sound, and will also include a review of foundational audio concepts. Hope to see you there!
Rachel Dziezynski is a freelance composer and sound designer that loves working on games as much as playing them. After graduating from Berklee College of Music in 2014, she moved to Tokyo, where she taught and worked as an assistant to composer Norihiko Hibino. Having returned to Boston in 2016, she now helps run Game Audio Boston, a local meetup that promotes game audio and brings together audio professionals, and works at Berklee College of Music while continuing her freelance work. Her recent projects include music for Puzzleshmup and sound design for ChemCaper.
